Amy Parry has just landed the job of her dreams; but this was no fluke or act of good fortune. Three years of intense hard work and training has been duly rewarded with Amy being offered a permanent position as a fully qualified Therapist at the award winning Chill Out Spa in Knowsley. So how did the 18-year old lass from Huyton achieve her goal in such a short space of time? After leaving school at 16, Amy applied for a Saturday job as a part-time waitress in the Chill Out Spa Bistro. Showing maturity beyond her years and a real dedication to her work, she quickly realised that a career in spa and beauty was an appealing proposition and began to explore the various educational options available to her. In 2014, she enrolled onto Level 2 Beauty at St Helens College and when Chill Out Spa heard about her ambitions, they seized upon the chance to offer Amy an apprenticeship so that she could have spa-based learning alongside her studying. Amy progressed really well with her Level 2 training so much so that she was offered a place on a Level 3 Swedish Massage course at Chill Out’s elite Training Academy in order to accelerate her progression further. The Academy offers specialist beauty, massage, hair and make-up tuition, Amy being the latest in a long list of local success stories to have graduated from the facility. “I suppose it was a combination of hard work, determination and just being in the right place at the right time” said Amy. “I started work helping out in the Chill Out Spa Bistro on Saturdays and now, thanks to my apprenticeship programme and Chill Out’s training academy, I’m part of the team at Chill Out Spa. I can’t quite believe it.” Chill Out Spa’s owner, Sharon Carroll is equally delighted with Amy’s appointment commenting; “Amy is a shining example of what can be achieved with sheer hard work and dedication. She has an exciting career ahead of her and it’s very gratifying”
